Meanwhile, in the same episode, Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Amy share the details of their Texas trip with Leonard and Penny. As Howard (Simon Helberg) and Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) welcome their daughter into this world, Sheldon and Amy decide to take a separate vacation, as the rest of the group. However, their holiday turns out to be sour a one.

Sheldon's mother, Mary Cooper (Laurie Metcalf) seems displeased with the couple's decision to live together. At the same time, Leonard and Penny experience a downward spiral as the couple decides to spend an alone Christmas. They soon realize how different they are from one another when it comes to making decisions.

Meanwhile, Howard and Bernadette get their bundle of joy, Hallie, home but are struggling with her as their infant will not stop crying. Showrunner Steve Molaro revealed to TV Line in an interview that they will not show Hallie on screen as a "tribute to her grandmother." They believe that this is a great way to keep Mrs. Wolowitz's character alive in the show. However, most importantly, they wanted to avoid getting an infant on the set, for obvious reasons.

"Big Bang Theory" Season 10, episode 12 will air on CBS on Jan. 5, 2017 at 8 p.m. EST.
