Ahead of the upcoming January event in Kuala Lumpur, Samsung has officially revealed its new Galaxy A (2017) series, namely the Galaxy A3, A5, and A7 models. More than the unveiling, the devices will bring impressive specs comparable to Galaxy S7 series, such as water and dust resistance, enhanced 16MP cameras, micro SD, among others.

At the models' launch, President of Mobile Communications Business DJ Koh attested on the company's upcoming devices, which should deliver quality performance and smooth performance.

DJ Koh said, "At Samsung, we are always trying to ensure our customers have the most advanced products on the market. The latest Galaxy A series is a testament to this. We integrated our unique approach to design as well as the features Galaxy customers have come to love to provide added performance without compromising on style."

According to Samsung, the Galaxy A series handsets should deliver a sleeker design and professional look as it pioneers its premium metal frame and 3D glass in the market. Convenience and comfort are pushed on the handsets through a sleeker camera and home key button.

In its optics department, the Galaxy A series models will be able to capture more accurate photos through a more stable autofocus, and clearer selfies even in the harshest conditions such as low-light environments. Through a special software, users can set a floating camera shutter button in order to take selfies in a snap, which should produce better-lit photos as the screen's display serves as a flash module.

According to NDTV, all three Galaxy A (2017) series smartphones will not run the latest Android Nougat, but rather carries the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The devices will also come in dual-SIM options, support 4G (LTE Cat. 6), and feature Super AMOLED displays.

Among the devices' sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, magnetometer, and proximity sensor. For connectivity options, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.2, NFC, and USB Type-C will be pre-installed in the models.

On another note, Samsung Malaysia's VP of Mobile and IT Business Unit, Lee Jui Siang recently revealed the IP68-certification for the Galaxy A (2017) handsets, which allows the devices to survive for 30 minutes underwater at depths of up to 1.5 meters (4.9 feet) and remains dust-resistant.

In early January, all three smartphones will be available in Russia before adjusting in more markets across the globe.
