Lowly squad US Sassuolo Calcio (5-11-2, 17 points) will try to snap a three-game losing slide as they meet middling side Torino FC (8-6-4, 28 points) in a 2016-2017 Serie A season match at their home field of Mapei Stadium-Città del Tricolore on Jan. 8, Sunday.

Sassuolo has lost their last three games after being unbeaten in the previous two as the team dropped to the 16th spot of the 20-team Italian top flight table. They are now seven points above the bottom three relegation area but are 16 points below the last Europa League qualifying spot for next season presently held by fifth-place team AC Milan.

Italian striker Andrea Belotti provided the winning goal for head coach Siniša Mihajlović's squad with a close range right-footed shot in the 49th minute off an assist by Serbian forward Adem Ljajic following a set piece situation.

The win snapped Torino's three-game losing slide as the team is currently settled in the 8th spot in the overall standings.
