The actor's label, Blossom Entertainment, then confirmed the good news to All Kpop and revealed that Park just received the script for "Seo Bok." Thus, nothing is confirmed about his appearance yet.

If he does accept the offer, Park will play a cloned human, Seo Bok, who possesses healing power. The story is based on the life of a Chinese historical figure, Xu Fu, but told from a present day perspective.

Xu Fu was entrusted twice by the First Emperor of Qin to sail the world in search of the elixir of immortality. However, on his second voyage (210 BC), his ship mysteriously vanished like a phantom. Until this day, his whereabouts remains unknown.

Not much is known about the project aside from the fact that it will cost around 10 billion won (approximately $8.4 million) to produce. It will be directed by PD Lee Yong Joo, whose previous projects include the 2012 romance film "Architecture 101."

Park, who debuted as an actor in the 2011 thriller film "Blind," has received recognition and praise for his hard work in the KBS 2TV drama. He recently took home the Male Top Excellence Award at 2016 KBS Drama Awards on Dec. 31, 2016.

In his acceptance speech, the "Reply 1988" actor stated he felt he was lacking something while filming for the hit KBS drama. Nonetheless, constant advice and support from Song Joong-Ki helped him overcome all his worries.

"I had a really hard time while I was filming this drama, and I couldn't find a balance," Korean newsoutlet Star News quoted Park as saying, as cited by Soompi. "Song Joong Ki understood that more than anyone else, and he gave me a lot of advice, so I wanted to say that I'm really grateful."
