Netflix has released a second trailer for "Voltron: Legendary Defender" Season 2. The footage confirms that the five Paladins will be able to find their way back to each other, along with Allura and Coran. It also teases several new enemies and a new ally.

The trailer also teases constant danger for the heroes. The Paladins exclaim that no matter what they do, Zarkon and his forces are always able to track them down. It is still uncertain if this is because of Zarkon was the former Black Lion pilot or because of what Shiro underwent while under captivity.

Executive producers Lauren Montgomery and Joaquim dos Santos also explained in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that Zarkon's connection to the Black Lion will have big ramifications in Season 2. Dos Santos points out that the Black Lion is still reacting to Zarkon even though the latter is a bad guy.

Another clip in the trailer shows the team fighting off new monsters and giant enemies. The producers explain that while some of these are beasts created by Zarkon to fight Voltron, others are not directly connected to the Galra.

With new enemies comes a new ally. The trailer shows Keith finding a pod with a masked person still inside. It is still uncertain if the new ally is male or female, or if they are even human. There are speculations this person will be the new Red Lion pilot if Keith has to step in as the Black Lion pilot.

Season 1 did end with all of the Paladins separated and scattered across the universe. The producers explain that they will start Season 2 dealing with their own individual problems but will eventually get back together.

Princess Allura and Shiro's fates were kept more ambiguous, however. A bigger and deeper plot arc is likely to unfold regarding these two characters, Collider reported.

"Voltron: Legendary Defender" Season 2 premieres on Netflix this Jan. 20. The official trailer can be viewed below:
