Clubs in the Chinese Super League are working hard to bring a number of established players to their shores. Although Chinese clubs are looking to sign young talent who will flourish in their league, they are still looking to bring in a number of marquee veterans. In particular, they are looking for players who have made a name for themselves in the Premier League.

Among the veterans being touted for a move to the wealthy Chinese Super League are Chelsea stalwart John Terry as well as Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney. Although these players are arguably past their peak in the Premier League, a number of Chinese clubs still believe that they have what it takes to play a high level of football. So much so in fact, that they could be offered a contract worth as much as £800,000 per week.

In spite of the fact that these players would definitely bring large attendance number to games, the main priority of Chinese clubs is still to sign young talent. A couple of names being thrown around in the rumor mill recently include Tottenham Hotspur duo Harry Kane and Dele Alli, who both have been in sensational form recently.

Out of favor Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge could also make a move to China due to a lock of first team action, according to the Metro. Everton midfielder Ross Barkley is also being lured by Chinese clubs and may soon follow his fellow Premier League midfielders John Obi Mikel and Oscar in making the move to China.

The reasoning of clubs in the Chinese Super League for splashing the cash on these big name players is pretty simple. They would want to be able to add credibility to their league, the Daily Mail reported. Aside from this, they would want to remove the notion that the Chinese Super League is simply a "retirement league" for players who have already left their best years of football in the past.

There is certainly no sign of stopping when it comes to the spending of Chinese clubs. Football fans can be certain that they will make even more eye-catching transfers during this window and the ones to come as well.
