Samsung Galaxy S8 release date is being pushed further down the calendar for reasons connected to Note 7's fiasco of 2016. The new release schedule will see the date delayed by two months from February to April.

According to Sam Mobile, Samsung may skip its planned launch spot at the Mobile World Congress and use a separate event in New York City to publicize its upcoming Galaxy S8. The company's fluctuation of its release timetable is an effort to prevent a repeat of the embarrassment it suffered from the Galaxy Note 7.

The ill-fated device led to a complete sales failure after it was found to overheat and catch fire during charging. Following this, the tech giant is not willing to take any chances and is expected to miss more release dates for its upcoming devices as it meticulously employs safety measures and stringent testing.

Samsung Galaxy S8's delay will be much significant compared to the Galaxy S7, which was released on March 11, 2016. Comparing the upcoming device to all its other predecessors, there will be no much difference, however.

Samsung Galaxy S6 went on sale on April 10, 2015, the S5 on April 11, 2014, and the S4 on April 27, 2013. Similarly, the Galaxy S2 and S1 handsets had been released between May and June, which means that the Galaxy S8 delay will not be much of an issue.

Samsung has set aside a division for batteries managed by Samsung SDI. The multinational conglomerate company previously supplied batteries for the "explosive" Note 7 and is still expected to supply for the Galaxy S8 as well.

Nevertheless, to avoid the same problems that arose with the Note 7, the company has conducted extensive research and uncovered that the problem does not lie with the batteries but how tight they are packed inside their sockets. In fact, Samsung has sorted the problem and is already planning for a Galaxy Note 8, according to Neuro Gadget.

As for the Samsung Galaxy S8 April release date, enthusiasts should take it with a little skepticism because it is yet to be confirmed by the company. Here is an overview of the rumored specs:
