Scalebound has been in development for quite some time now which began in 2013. It was even announced at 2014's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) that has grown to become one of the most anticipated titles during that time, though it was bogged down numerous times, Kotaku reported.

Prior to such sad news, the said publication reached out to Microsoft to check the current lowdown of the game. The latter replied stating that they have more to share with "Scalebound" in the near future. Now that the title is canceled, it looks like there is really nothing to share in the first place. In the interim, Microsoft is very confident that the aforementioned titles are pretty strong this 2017 and even hinted about its yet to be announced "experiences" that are also slated for 2017, according to Windows Central.

The reason for Scalebound's demise is hard to come by. However, if current talks are anything to go by, it is believed that both PlatinumGames and Microsoft may have conflicts on how the game should be developed. There are even some who speculated that both entities encountered difficulties in making the game run in Microsoft's current console.
