South Korean tech giant Samsung is aiming a 2017 flagship comeback with its Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone. The smartphone is expected to sport a number of innovative features.

In addition to the anticipated Samsung Galaxy S8 device, Samsung is also working on its new virtual assistant to debut on the Galaxy S8 called Bixby, GSMArena reported. The new move by the company is seen as a mean to make up for last year's Galaxy note 7 mess. It is rumored that the firm has set some goals for itself and is targeting to ship about 60 million units of the Galxy S8 within a period of one year.

Bixby will be integrated in Samsung's own Android apps together with the Samsung Pay Mini. The latter will be a lighter, stripped-down version of the company's mobile payment gateway. It will provide feature like online payment, whereas the full-blown version of Samsung Pay also enables transactions in physical stores.

Samsung's sale goal depends on the supply of parts from vendors and customers reaction to the flagship also. An anonymous source told The Investor that the production of the Samsung Galaxy S8 will commence in March, when the firm will begin releasing 5 million units of the S8 every month upon receiving electronic parts in February from its main vendors. Camera lens firm Sekonix and camera iris scanner module maker Partron are some of the noted vendors of the parts.

The shipment goal of 60-million unit much higher than the previous flagship shipments the company made in the last three years. Previously, Samsung made a shipment of 48 million units of Samsung Galaxy S7 and 45 million units were shipped of Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S5. Notably, the giant made a sale of 70 million handsets of the 2013 Samsung Galaxy S4 and 65 million units of the 2012 Samsung Galaxy S3.

Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to have a 6-inch display with 8GB of RAM. Samsung is rumored to bring USB Type-C to the device, while removing the 3.5mm headphone jack.
