Samsung Display has released two promotional videos. Speculations suggest these videos reveal the prototype of the upcoming Galaxy S8 flagship smartphone.
Several renders of the Samsung Galaxy S8 have surfaced. The leaked renders have revealed that the smartphone would be arriving with a larger screen-to-body ratio. The two recent videos by Samsung Display are in Korean but they do show off the display that will be incorporated on future smartphones by the company.
Rumors have it that the smartphone shown in the two video is a prototype of Galaxy S8 and it sports a thinner top and bottom bezels compared to the recent Samsung flagship. The physical Home button is absent on the device.
Some speculated that the smartphone shown in the video is Galaxy S8. However, it seems to be a prototype since it features a flat display. Leaked photos of Galaxy S8 have revealed it will be coming with a dual-edge curved screen.
Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to come in two screen sizes. Its 5-inch screen variant is rumored to launch as Galaxy S8 whereas its 6-inch display model is speculated to arrive as Galaxy S8 Plus. The larger device is pegged to house a dual camera setup where the rear panel of Galaxy S8 is expected to feature single camera.
The Snapdragon 835 SoC with 6 GB or 8 GB RAM is likely to power the Galaxy S8 variants. Samsung is also expected to release Exynos 8895 chipset variants for Galaxy S8. It is expected to come loaded with Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS. It is expected to come in storage models of 128 GB and 256 GB.
The Galaxy S8 models are unlikely to feature 3.5 mm audio jack. Other features of the smartphone include water-resistance capabilities, microSD card support, Bluetooth 5.0 and 4,200 mAh battery. Speculations have also hinted that the Samsung may sell an option S-Pen accessory for Galaxy S8 models.
The South Korean tech giant has not revealed any information on Galaxy S8 launch date. However, recent rumors have hinted that the company would be launching it on April 18.
