Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has assured that the NES Classic supplies have been addressed accordingly. GameStop senior vice president of merchandising Bob Puzon assured that they are working with Nintendo to get new Nintendo Switch units.

Fils-Aime told Gamespot in an exclusive interview about how the game company is handling the situation with the NES Classic shortages. The classic console system remains sold out everywhere following its launch, and he explained that it was just a matter of demand outpacing the supply.

The president revealed that the buyers who were going to purchase the NES classic were the adults who grew up playing it, but stepped away from the gaming industry. As they thought about that, that led them to a certain level of supply. The reality of it all is that the ones who retired from gaming, and the ones who are active bought the console system, and that surprised them, leading to lower supplies as a result.

Fils-Aime assured that the game company will be continuing to manufacture more NES classic systems and make it available for interested buyers. He also confirmed that the supply issues for the console system have been largely addressed. The console still continues to have a status of being sold out everywhere, but there might be a change in the near future.

The Nintendo Switch and Nintendo's supply plans were discussed by Fils-Aime. He revealed that the game company will have 2 million units worldwide, which will be launched in March. He noted that this is a huge amount of supply, considering that the Switch will not be launched in a holiday month.

Fils-Aime assured that the game company is working hard to make sure there is a steady supply for the Nintendo Switch. He explained that the demand side of the equation is the only factor that they cannot anticipate, but they are certain that the supply will be well-positioned.

In other Nintendo Switch related news, GameStop sold through initial Nintendo Switch stock. In a statement on the official website of the online gaming shop, Puzon said they are working closely with Nintendo to secure more Nintendo Switch units. He revealed that there is no word just yet on when the next batch of the console system units will be available.
