"The Flash" Season 3 will soon see the return of CCPD Detective Eddie Thawne (Rick Cosnett).

On his Twitter account, the actor shared a photo of himself and announced in the caption that he will reprise his role in at least one episode. Eddie first said goodbye at the end of Season 1 when he sacrificed his life to make sure that Eobard will no longer exist.

The character returned to Season 2 in one of its episode where Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) traveled back in time to consult with Dr. Wells (Tom Cavanagh). While there, Barry was able to ask Eddie to record a video for Iris West (Candice Patton), who was still mourning his death.

According to TV Line, no other details about Cosnett's return to "The Flash" have been confirmed. It is also unknown when and how Eddie will be re-introduced in the hit The CW series.

Previously, Barry found out that Iris will die within five months. This will encourage him to travel to the future and change certain events while he is there. Since Eddie died much earlier, the character cannot be part of the future that Barry will travel to.

But since "The Flash" is known for introducing doppelgangers, a different version of Eddie may also be in the future. However, he may not have any connections with Iris.

Meanwhile, Robbie Amell will also return to "The Flash" Season 3 to reprise his role as Ronnie Raymond. In Season 1, Ronnie was killed off. In Season 2, his doppelganger, Deathstorm, also died. By the looks of it, Ronnie will resurface on a different timeline.

Following the announcement, Amell's onscreen partner, Danielle Panabaker, expressed her excitement over his upcoming return. Panabaker plays the role of Caitlin Snow in "The Flash."

"The Flash" Season 3 will return to The CW on Jan. 23 at 8 p.m. EST.
