"Goblin's" viewership ratings is a juggernaut that cannot be stopped. As the tvN drama continues to feature more surprising revelations, it also continues to break ratings records.
"Goblin," also known as "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God," has broken through the 15 percent rating mark with its 13th episode. The said episode, which aired on Jan. 13, Friday, recorded viewership ratings of 16.52 percent, according to ratings research company Nielsen Korea, as cited by Soompi.
The latest episode showed Park Joon Heon (Kim Byung Chul) removing the sword that had been stuck in Kim Shin's (Gong Yoo) chest. The Grim Reaper (Lee Dong-Wook) then appeared and forced the cunning eunuch out of Ji Eun Tak's (Kim Go Eun) body. The episode ended with Kim Shin's body deteriorating into the air as he was held by Ji Eun Tak.
Following the huge cliffhanger ending, the tvN drama aired a special segment on Jan. 14, Saturday. The one-hour special revealed which scene gained the highest viewership ratings, explained the complicated relationship of each character and also gave viewers a hint of what's to come.
The show's 11th episode, which saw Kim Shin embracing Ji Eun Tak after saving her, was recorded as the top rating scene. This one-minute scene got 17.2 percent of viewership ratings.
It was then followed by the intense scene between Kim Shin and Sunny (Yoo In-Na) from the tvN's drama 12th episode. The said scene recorded a viewership rating of 16.4 percent.
Coming in third was the scene where Kim Shin discovered that Sunny is the reincarnation of his younger sister Kim Sun (Kim So Hyun), which got a viewership rating of 15 percent. To celebrate the drama's success, the entire cast and crew members will leave for Phuket, Thailand on Feb. 06, a source from tvN told The Kpop Herald.
"All the members are trying to adjust their schedules so as not to miss the opportunity," the source said. "It will be a good chance to bond and recharge themselves."
