"Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" was announced recently announced for the Nintendo Switch console. It will be an enhanced port of the Wii U original, with new characters and the return of the Battle Mode, but Nintendo has confirmed it will not include brand new race tracks.

Despite this, the game will contain all of the DLCs that were previously released. This means all 48 tracks from the base game and DLCs will be available for the Switch port, Eurogamer reported. This already includes the Hyrule Circuit and the Animal Crossing track, as well as the Neo Bowser track from the 3DS.

For gamers who did not purchase "Mario Kart 8" on the Wii U or for those who did not buy the game's DLCs this will give them the full package. It is still uncertain, however, if there will be new DLCs launching specifically for the Switch port of the game.

Although there will not be new tracks for the game upon launch, it will contain several new mechanics, modes and characters that were not in the Wii U version. This includes the new playable characters King Boo, Inkling Girl, Inkling Boy, Dry Bones and Bowser Jr. as well as brand new vehicles.

One of the biggest complaints of the Wii U version is that it did not have individual arenas specifically for the Battle Mode. Instead it used the same race tracks for the Battle Mode. This has been changed for the Switch port as it now has arenas specifically designed for this competitive mode, Attack of the Fanboy reported.

Other improvements include 1080p resolution when played on a TV. It will retain a 720p resolution when played on the Switch's tablet, which is the same resolution of the Wii U version. A new 200cc race class has been added and there is now an option to add CPU opponents in online multiplayer races.

"Mario Kario 8 Deluxe" launches for the Nintendo Switch on April 28. The official trailer can be viewed below:
