The Android 5.1 Lollipop update for the Nexus 4 is using the LMY47D firmware version and Google promises that it will add software stability for the device.

The Nexus 4 is the first smartphone in the series to be offered at a middle-priced range and at the same time fully-packed with high end specs.

The Nexus 4 runs using a 23-bit 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro microchip with 2GB of memory and an 8GB or 16GB internal storage option. The phone has a DC-HSPA+ 3G modem with projected data transfer speed of up to 24Mbps, however the Nexus 4 is not LTE capable. The phone has a 4.7-inch display with 720p resolution and a 2,100mAh batter. For selfie-conscious users, the Nexus 4 has an 8MP rear camera.

The official release of Android 5.1 Lollipop has not been confirmed yet but many analysts expects Google to roll it our within the next few weeks. For users who can't wait to get their hands on the new update, an XDA Forum member announced that he was able to compile an Android 5.1 ROM for the Nexus 4. Interested Android users are free to download this but they have to use it at their own risk since this ROM is not sanctioned by Google, according to Android Headlines.
