Lead actors, Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock) and Martin Freeman (Dr. Watson) may be inseparable on the show, but in real life, the two lead actors are "hardly close."

According to The Sun, an insider revealed to the newspaper that Sherlock and his sidekick Dr. Watson are not exactly friends outside of the show. Even though the two are very professional and polite, they have never been able to warm up to each other, despite working together for six years.

While the actors are reportedly busy with their individual schedules, the insider noted that the two are not willing to work together anymore. However, despite rumors about the frosty relationship between the lead actors, Cumberbatch rubbished the reports and revealed to AP that they love doing the show, but they are very busy with their respective schedules and that the show may not happen with the same regularity. However, Cumberbatch also added for the fans that "We'll see, we'll never say never and when it's right, and if it's right, we'll do more."

Steven Moffat, one of the show's creators, said at a recent screening that even though they are not planning to end the show, it is possible that there might not be a Season 5, The Independent reported. This is not the first time that Moffat has hinted season 4 to be the last one. Back in July, he said that the team will not be so surprised if this was the last time they ever made the show. But it is a possibility.

"Sherlock" Season 4 drew the least number of audience on Sunday night for the first time ever. The episode titled, "The Final Problem" attracted fewer viewers and the ones that did see the episode were left more confused than ever. Only 5.9 million people tuned in to watch the finale episode, which was a sharp decline from 8.1 million who watched the first episode of the latest season.

Even though the future of "Sherlock" Season 5 hangs in the air, Moffat is already thinking which of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's stories he will adapt next. With a total of 60 stories written by the famous author, there is lot of material for Mark Gatiss (Mycroft Holmes) and Moffat to mine, should the show ever return.
