Concerned Ape has revealed when the Nintendo Switch port for "Stardew Valley" would release. Updates for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC versions were also detailed and the developers confirmed that a PS Vita port is still a possibility.

"Stardew Valley will not be a launch title on Nintendo Switch, but I am still planning on bringing it to the platform later this year," the developer stated on its official site. No specific date was hinted although it is expected to be close to the release of the Switch's launch in March.

It was originally planned to launch for the Nintendo Wii U but this port was cancelled in favor of the current Switch version, Dual Shockers reported. The exact details of what may have been lost in the transition between the Wii U and Switch ports has not been released.

Concerned Ape has not yet revealed what gameplay changes will be implemented with the Switch port. This particularly due to the fact that the Switch has multiple control schemes.

The developers further explain that they are investigating the possibility of releasing the game on the PS Vita. The Vita is notably trailing behind other gaming systems, particularly in comparison to the Nintendo 3DS, and is also not as popular as its predecessor, the Playstation Portable.

A patch for the Xbox One and PS4 versions is also stated to launch by February. The developers stated that the primary concern for the next patch is to fix a bug that makes saved games unloadable.

PC players are also getting a new update. The developers confirm that they are further tweaking controller support so that the mouse cursor automatically disappears when the player is using a gamepad.

It is further stated that while Concerned Ape is working on the PC update, the vast majority of ports and updates are being handled by other companies. "Stardew Valley" publisher Chucklefish Games, Sickhead Games and Playism are all mentioned to be involved.
