Initially, both the ZUK smartphones were launched with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system out-of-the-box with the ZUI 2.0 skin on the top of it. However, new reports claim that the Android Nougat also comes with the new ZUI 2.5 version, which was rumored to come to Motorola smartphones sold in China.

According to Softpedia News, the Android Nougat update for the ZUK Z1 users may also come sometime in January as a beta version. In addition, the stable build for the Z1 devices may be released as early as February.

The Lenovo ZUK Z2 was initially released in June 2016, according to Nashville Chatter. The smartphone features a 5-inch 1080p LCD display screen, a Snapdragon 820 processor, Adreno 530 GPU, 4GB RAM and 64GB of non-expandable storage onboard.

The phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system and houses a 3,500 mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology. Its latest security suite sports a fingerprint sensor embedded on the home button, which can unlock the phone in under 0.1 seconds.

In its camera department, the ZUK Z2 brings a 13-megapixel rear camera, coupled with PDAF, f/2.2 aperture, and a LED flash. Its front-snapper features an 8-megapixel camera.

On the other hand, its Pro variant, Lenovo ZUK Z2 Pro, sports a slightly larger screen size of 5.2 inches, while carrying the same Full HD resolution. Powered by a Snapdragon 820 SoC, it boosts the RAM up to 6GB and internal storage of 128GB. Its front camera features a 13-megapixel sensor with PDAF, OIS, and dual-tone LED flash. The front has an 8MP shooter that shares the same specs as the standard Z2.

The Lenovo ZUK Z2 Pro also features a fingerprint scanner and USB-C like its Z2 standard, although its battery capacity fits a smaller 3100mAh, still coupled with a Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology.
