MMA news: Tito Ortiz demands public apology from Chael Sonnen following Bellator 170 win

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship superstars Tito Ortiz and Chael Sonnen have settled their 18-year-old beef at Bellator 170 with the former taking the victory. During the build up to the bout, Sonnen had plenty to say about the former UFC light heavyweight champ and Ortiz wants his rival to apologize to him in public.

Ortiz bid farewell to his mixed martial arts career in flying colors by submitting Sonnen in the first round. Despite Sonnen tapping out, Ortiz still continued his rear-naked choke on his opponent, signalling that the victory is not enough to erase the bad blood between them. However, a public apology from Sonnen will be the key to end their beef, MMA Fighting reported.

According to Ortiz, Sonnen came to his dressing room to congratulate him for the win but he hold 'The American Gangster' to apologize to him in public. In a pre-fight press conference, Sonnen did not just take aim at Ortiz with his trash talking but to Ortiz's ex-girlfriend and former porn star Jenna Jameson as well.

Ortiz said that Sonnen badmouthing his family is a below the belt attack, saying that the former UFC middleweight title contender broke his own personal code of trash talking when he mentioned Jameson as someone who makes money with her mouth.

It could not be a worse week for Sonnen as he was fired early in the show, "The New Celebrity Apprentice," for apparently cheating on their group challenge.

Though Ortiz has maintained that he will be retired following a decorated 20-year MMA career, it could not keep someone like Jon 'Bones' Jones to challenge him in a fight. Ortiz took a shot at Jones by saying that 'Bones' has "never done anything." Jones did not took the statement lightly and said that he would make Ortiz "look like a white belt" if they ever meet again in a bout.
