Microsoft will be releasing a new DLC in February for "Halo 5." They have also launched a new playlist for the video game.
Game developer 343 is still continuing its support for the video game with their upcoming DLC, which is the Classic Helmet Req pack, according to its official blog. It will be released this coming Feb. 9, but it might change due to the fluid nature of the game development. The Req pack will come with all the helmets that fans are familiar with, but the pricing was not yet announced.
The game developer announced that a new playlist called Warlords was launched on the video game's Warzone mode recently. It will only be available this weekend, and it will let players use Warzone with a 12-person roster, instead of six members. They recently had a controversy when they reduced the fireteam size to six.
The new playlist is being viewed as a test internally because the developers think that it may not be a great experience, especially if the population of pre-made 12-man Fireteams is low. The result of this is the longer-than desired wait times for matchmaking. They are still looking forward to rolling this new playlist out and seeing how larger teams respond.
Players can only enter the matchmaking if they have a 12-person team, which is why it is advised for them to join the "Halo" Club on Xbox One. It was also announced that those who play the Warlords playlist this weekend will get an XP boost for their accounts.
The game developer revealed that the response to the change to a six-person fireteam for Warzone has garnered a positive effect to the game. They are not planning on getting it back to 12, except for this weekend's Warlord test playlist. They will continue to monitor the situation with every list they run.
In other news, the game developer has announced that it is in need of the players' feedback. As written on the video game's official forums, the developer is currently taking a look at REQs and is considering the potential changes to some REQ card energy level requirements.
The development team has already made some changes, which are vehicles with reduced energy cost, and some weapons with reduced energy cost. The Oni Gungoose gets an adjustment to three from four, while the River of Light gets adjusted to five from six.
