One of the strongest weapons in "Resident Evil 7" is the shotgun, which is why it is recommended for players to acquire it whenever they get the chance. Here are the steps on how to get the shotgun weapon for use.

The first item that players should get is the Scorpion Key, according to VG247. It is an essential item for them to get in order to get the shotgun out of the locked-door puzzle. They can find the key down in the Processing Area in the house, which is the basement.

In the processing area, there is a blue gate that players can pull aside. There are a lot of items in that room, and one of the important items to collect is the Scorpion Key. They will need to acquire it because it is an important item for story progression, and they can get this as soon as they can get access to the basement.

After players backtrack from the processing area, they will need to follow the path just up the hall from the stairs and the save room. They will find a Scorpion Door in "Resident Evil 7," which they can open and it will lead back out into the main hall.

Players will have to go back upstairs since they need to get to Grandma's room, which requires the Scorpion Key. Check the area where they played the Mia tape and the drain the gross bath a little earlier. Be careful since Jack is still hanging around the area.

Players will need to head to the Recreation Room, where they will find Grandma's room inside it, according to Eurogamer. They will find some useful items, which are the Broken Shotgun, Handgun Ammo, Chem Fluid, Shotgun Shells, and two files called Memo About Relief and Doctor's Letter.

Replace the real Shotgun in the Main Hall with the Broken Shotgun that players just picked up a while ago. They will need to have enough inventory space first before replacing it in "Resident Evil 7." This will give them enough firepower to help them take on several enemies along the way like the Molded on the way to the Dissection room.
