Beyonce’s announcement of her pregnancy on Instagram with twins just broke the Internet. She wrote on Wednesday: “We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes.”
The hashtag #BeyonceisPregnant is trending on Twitter which had 17,000 tweets 15 minutes after Beyonce posted on Instagram her pregnancy photo. The post became viral with 5.2 million likes and almost 300,000 comments within 20 hours.
Only Good News
Many netizens considered her pregnancy good news amid the other bad news going on such as Donald Trump’s presidency. Alex tweeted, “Beyonce having twins? this is God trying to make up for 2016.”
Following Beyonce’s announcement, Tanya Chen cancelled her therapy session, while king crissle said it just cured her depression, Time reported. Kelly Andersen tweeted, “Beyonce sensed we were all in need of good news, and so Beyonce got pregnant with twins. Beyonce is a woman of and for the people.”
Tizio Magazine celebrated her pregnancy by telling customers to use the code BEYPREG to get a 50 percent discount on the magazine. Sierraleone711 emailed her professor to take the rest of the day off.
Names for Twins
Among the hot topics that followed Beyonce’s announcement is fans proposing names for her twins. Justice4Sandra suggested Red Hibiscus and Poison Oak. For Naeema, the more appropriate names are Red and Purple, while Lauren Brown thought Kelly and Michelle would be better.
Vintage Rudo predicted all pregnant women would recreate Beyonce’s maternity shoot picture showing her in a green veil, brown bra, blue panties and a large floral arrangement on the background. But Cass said only Beyonce would announce she is pregnant with such an amazing photo. Mashable forecast sheer green veils would be the vogue.
