John Cena is the WWE champion at the moment but he is expected to lose it at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. The only remaining question is who will be Cena's opponent at WrestleMania 33. Some of the rumored superstars include Dolph Ziggler, The Miz, Baron Corbin and Samoa Joe.

Cena made history at the Royal Rumble when he defeated A.J. Styles to win his 16th WWE world title. He tied Ric Flair's record for the most in wrestling history. However, he is not expected to have a long title reign because he will film a new movie after WrestleMania 33.

According to Cageside Seats, the WWE did not want to make Cena's 16th WWE title win a big deal because he will drop the championship at the Elimination Chamber on February 12 in Phoenix, Arizona. The rumored WWE champion heading to WrestleMania 33 is Bray Wyatt.

Now that the plans are starting to get finalized, many are wondering which superstar will have the privilege to face Cena at the biggest stage of them all. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer (subscription required) reported that Cena's opponent for WrestleMania 33 is "not a significant" superstar.

Meltzer noted that Ziggler, The Miz and Baron Corbin are among the possible opponents for Cena. The latest rumors even suggest that Cena will team up with Nikki Bella and face The Miz and Maryse at WrestleMania 33 in a Mixed Tag Team Match.

Cena vs. Ziggler could also be a good matchup since it will be the latter's first one-on-one match at WrestleMania. They have a history that can be an intriguing storyline. Ziggler previously dated Nikki Bella before she went on to have a relationship with Cena.

There are rumors that Nikki could be retiring at WrestleMania 33 and it's a good story wherein Cena defends her girlfriend's honor against her ex. On the other hand, Corbin will be elevated to higher levels if he feuds with one of the best ever.

"The Lone Wolf" has the potential to be one of the biggest superstars of the WWE's new generation. If he gets the experience of having a match with Cena at WrestleMania 33, it would do wonders to his career.

Finally, Samoa Joe is another possibility for Cena. The WWE already teased their match late last year and the injury to Seth Rollins opens up Joe's move to SmackDown. All the four superstars mentioned as possible Cena opponents at WrestleMania could easily screw him out of the WWE championship at Elimination Chamber.
