Telecom operators worldwide eagerly await the arrival of 5G technology that has the potential to provide efficiency and revenue-generating opportunities.

A report from Strategy Analytics indicates that there will be approximately 690 million 5G connections by 2025, and a large percentage of which will be in the Chinese market.

In order to prepare for this prediction, China is pushing the development of 5g end-to-end capabilities on its network.

China is said to be forming partnerships for next generation communications and applications across various industry sectors. The latest company to join the partnership is Qorvo.

Qorvo provides innovative radio frequency (RF) solutions that contributed in today's highly connected digital ecosystem. It addresses the needs of operators through complex deployments in global markets for advanced wireless devices, as well as wired and wireless networks along with defense radar and communications.

Qorvo has been advancing 5G network technology by leveraging the competitive strengths it has in the industry. It has a wide range of 5G initiatives that include supporting more than 20 5G field trials of self-driving cars, industrial connectivity, virtual reality and others. This has led China Mobile's 5g Innovation Center to accept the membership of Qorvo.

"We are delighted to join the China Mobile 5G Innovation Center," said Eric Creviston, president of Qorvo's Mobile Products Group.

"This is a unique opportunity to engage with the world’s largest mobile operator and its ecosystem partners. By participating in development at the Center’s Open Labs and in field trials, our goal is to accelerate the creation and delivery of market-leading 5G solutions."

The company stated that it will be driving the transition to 5G by bringing its expertise to develop radio frequency solutions in steerable antenna arrays as well as in advanced module packaging.

This will accelerate the adoption of carrier aggregation by simplifying the design and lowering the product footprint, which will result in conserving power and improving system performance.
