In the upcoming season of "The Walking Dead," Rick Grimes will link up with all the other communities in his attempt to take down Negan. According to showrunner Scott M. Gimple, a common thread would bind the communities together in Season 7B as they seek to take revenge against the big bad.

It can be recalled that in the first half of the season, Rick and his group had to submit to Negan's demands after killing Glenn, Abraham and Denise. Gimple teased that in Season 7B, an unfinished business in Oceanside will be revealed, causing a huge impact on the story.

In Season 7A, the episode titled "Swear" saw Tara washed ashore at the Oceanside where she stumbled upon a group of well-armed women. At one point, she promised them that she would never tell anyone about their existence. However, she made that promise before she learned about what Negan had done to his friends Glenn, Abraham and Denise. In Season 7B, it remains to be seen if she would still keep the women of the Oceanside's existence under wraps now that she's already aware of the dangers.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Gimple revealed why they had decided to bring the Oceanside storyline next season when in the comic, it was introduced much later than Season 7B. He said, "There's definitely unfinished business there. And the information that Oceanside--and what it possesses-- would be a very big deal to Rick."

The upcoming series will reveal that someone inside the Oceanside community, or everyone inside Oceanside, knows something that Rick does not know and this would play a big part in Season 7B. According to Cinema Blend, given how the community survived Negan's previous conquest and how determined Rick is to retaliate against Negan, it is possible that the Oceanside and the Rick's group would make a good team.

In the series, the Oceanside was formed after their community became one of Negan's conquests.  After Negan slaughtered all the male members of the community and left them, the remaining females decided to build a shop in their campground, veiled from the eyes of outsiders who may spy on them.
