After hiding from her father, the daughter blocked her father’s phone calls which led Zhang to seek help from the police and media. Besides his daughter, Club Mook, located along Nanjing Road, also employed six other minor females aged 13 to 15, the daughter told Zhang when she finally went home.

Shanghai media checked the popular night spot on Nanjing Xi Lu and confirmed the presence of minors working in Club Mook. The club, which has VIP rooms and a dance area, is notorious for featuring western dancers and paid models.

IDs Not Required to Enter

According to Shanghai Daily, the club has a sign at the bar’s entrance stating people below 18 years old are not allowed to enter. However, it noticed that Club Mook’s security guards did not ask for identification cards of people entering the club as proof of age.

The press, who went undercover, found a very young girl who was likely on 12 or 13 years old, but before they could talk to the minor, the other employees of Club Mook took her away.
