The HTC 11 launch may come a little later than the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017. According to HTC executive Chialin Chang, the tech company will have another flagship only when the unidentified new CPU comes, but it will take a while before the next flagship CPU arrives.

It is clear that the next flagship will not be ready by the end of this month for the MCW, but mobile enthusiasts are positive that the HTC 11 will have its big debut sometime in the middle of this year. In his interview with Tbreak, Chang said, "We want to have a couple of months of leadership before the next flagship CPU comes. But that will be in another period of time--not at MWC. Not for us or any other player. I can tell you that for sure."

Chang refused to name the chipset, but there are speculations that he was referring to the Snapdragon 835. The chipset was expected to be launched alongside the HTC U Ultra last month at CES, but mobile enthusiasts were disappointed when it did not come with Snapdragon 835.

According to Tech Radar, it was Samsung that snapped everything up, and that is why Chang was so sure that other companies would not use the unidentified chipset for phones that would be launched at the MWC. Incidentally, even LG has also announced that it would settle for the Snapdragon 821 for its new flagship just to not skip the MWC.

The Snapdragon 835 will reportedly be out by April. Since the Foundry Arm of Samsung is the manufacturer of the chipsets for Qualcomm, it may first outfit the Samsung Galaxy S8.

While there are drawbacks in waiting for the premium chipset to be available before the HTC 11 launch, mobile enthusiasts are positive that considering its features, the device is still worth the wait. The new flagship phone of the Taiwanese giant is rumored to have 8GB of RM, a 5.5-inch curved QHD display and a 3,700 mAh battery life.
