Samsung Galaxy S6 will be available in the United States on Apr. 11, while the availability of its curved screen variant is still unknown.
Tech website Phone Arena cited an unnamed tipster who claimed that the Samsung Galaxy S6 will hold its US debut on Apr. 11 thru major carriers. The tipster is allegedly working on one of the four biggest networks in the country. He also tipped that Samsung reps are already making the rounds on various retail locations, bringing demo units of the device. Meanwhile, there is no information on the availability Galaxy S6 Edge smartphone, but reports are saying that the handset will be available in limited quantities.
It is confirmed that both Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge will be released in the United States thru various carriers and retailers. However, the preorder of the two devices have not started. Verizon is the first carrier to confirm that the preorder of the handsets will begin on Apr. 1, while other carriers put up special pages where consumers can sign up to receive information about the availability of the smartphones.
The prices of the new Samsung smartphones are still unknown. However, a post from T-Mobile suggested that the Samsung Galaxy S6 will cost $699 without a binding contract.
The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge share the same specs and features that include 5.1-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display, 64-bit octa-core Exynos 7 processor, 16 MP rear camera and 5 MP front-facing camera, and 2550mAh battery capacity. Both smartphones run with the Android 5.0 Lollipop.
