New details for "Injustice 2" will feature the return of Superman;s Regime in a latest trailer and the gear and armor items in the beta will not be transferred to the game.

NetherRealm Studios launched a new game trailer for "Injustice 2" titled "Shattered Alliances Part 1", which featured the return of Superman and his One Earth Regime. The trailer will center on the broken relationship between Batman and Superman ever since the Man of Steel's defeat in the first game.

Superman's allies in the Regime Wonder Woman, Robin and Cyborg appear to free him, while Batman's forces prevent them from freeing him, which include Blue Beetle. Supergirl will likely have a vital role in the "Injustice 2" as she is caught in a tough spot as to whether he joins Superman's forces or join Batman against him. The rest of the trailer highlights the clash between Batman and Superman, Gamerant reported.

It is previously hinted that Supergirl's presence in "Injustice 2" will be the center of its plotline as she arrived on earth and finds out that her cousin was imprisoned on earth.

Supergirl seems to be the main focus of "Injustice 2" despite being one of the first characters revealed when the game was announced, she has been in almost every piece of promotional material and her dialogue, while fighting teases her role in the story.

Base on her dialogue, players can surmise that Supergirl will come to this Earth and find her cousin Superman in jail. Perhaps she is the one who breaks him out of his cell.

Supergirl’s dialogue with Batman suggests they are not on the same side, and Batman is trying to tell her that Superman does not have noble intentions while ruling. Supergirl’s dialogue with Batman also hints he is training her to fight on his side.

There is also specific dialogue between Supergirl and Superman that suggests she and her cousin are not on the same side and that Supergirl is trying to stop him.

It would seem that Supergirl first aligns herself with Superman before being convinced by Batman to defect to his side, after possibly seeing some of the heinous things Kal-El has done during the events of the game.

Meanwhile, it seems that players will not be able to transfer their earned gear and armor loots from the beta test to the main game.

This came from the "Injustice 2" Watchtower stream where in NetherRealm Studios answered a fans question asking them if they can transfer their progress from the beta to the main game, to which the developers reply "no" to the fan.

This somewhat a shame for gamers who have spent their time in the close beta unlocking all of the legendary armor and gear sets for each DC character in "Injustice 2". However, it is no surprise considering that most multiplayer betas end up stripping players of their accolades and unlocks once the full version comes out, WWG reported.

There are also rumors that "Injustice 2" could feature additional game modes like a "Tournament Mode" were in the the gear system will not factor into game and will give beginners a fair fighting chance and a tag-team style game mode similar to 2009 "Mortal Kombat" game.

So far, the roster of characters include Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Aquaman, Supergirl, Robin, Blue Beetle, Black Canary, Swamp Thing, Cyborg, Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Atrocitus, Gorilla Grodd, Cheetah, Poison Ivy, Catwoman, Bane, Scarecrow, Braniac and Darkseid.

Other DC character that are likely to join the game are Green Arrow, Black Adam, The Atom, Firestorm, Captain Cold, Ra's al Ghul just to name a few.

"Injustice 2" will launch on May 16 for the PS4 and Xbox One.
