"Emerald City" episode 8 titled "Lions in the Winter" gave viewers a glimpse at Lucas' life with Glinda as her husband Roan. After an earlier spell removed his memories, Lucas was reunited with his wife and regained his memories but his relationship with Glinda suffered a setback given his lingering feelings for Dorothy.

Aired on Feb. 17, the said episode featured a scene between the husband and wife with Lucas imploring Glinda to help him regain his old self back. However, having already lifted the spell, Glinda told her conflicted husband that the only way that he can break Dorothy's hold over him is to kill the said character.

With Glinda threatening to do said deed herself should he refuse the mission, the upcoming "Emerald City" episode 9 will feature Lucas' fight with Dorothy. The promo clip posted on Spoilers Guide showed the Kansas-born character trying to evade his attacks.

Despite Lucas' intention to push ahead with the mission, his feelings for Dorothy might stop him for killing the said character. A scene in the said clip featured a bloodied Lucas strangling Dorothy while imploring her to stop him.

Meanwhile, viewers can expect to see an intense discussion between the Wizard (Vincent D'Onofrio) and Langwidere (Stefanie Martini). Given the supply of ammunition that the Lady Ev can provide, the Wizard will try to convince her to give him the weapons that he needs for the impending battle.

In other news, an interesting behind-the-scenes look at "Emerald City" episode 8 posted on Entertainment Weekly unveiled one of the showrunners apprehensions in breaking the Lucas and Dorothy romance. Executive Producer Shaun Cassidy revealed a discussion he had with co-showrunner David Schulner about the twist that tore the said couple apart.

It appears that Cassidy was a fan of the Lucas-Dorothy tandem and was hoping to find a way for the two characters to still end up together. At this point, it is unclear if the showrunners will come up with an ending that will feature Dorothy's successful return to Kansas along with a rekindled romance with Lucas.

"Emerald City" episode 9 will be released on Feb. 24, Friday, on NBC. Watch a teaser clip below:
