According to Game Spot, despite the fact that Blizzard has already started teasing the new character recently, the only thing known about it is that it is most likely a robot or an android. This is despite the fact that the teasers include in-world interview with Efi, a fake news story about an airport incident, an in-game update to the arrivals board in Numbani and more.

Also, "Overwatch" director Jeff Kaplan said in the official Blizzard Forums before that the next character is not what the fan base think. He is most likely referring to Doomfist, the most speculated unreleased hero on the game.

Doomfist's popularity is due to the fact that Hollywood actor Terry Crews expressing his interest on the character. He was able to have a visit on Blizzard Studios and got the support of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as well as a large group of "Overwatch" fans who want him to voice Doomfist.

Kaplan's statement whoever negates the fact that Doomfist is the next hero in line if his popularity is any indication. However, that does not mean that the hero will never get released in the future, as growing evidence of the hero's existence is thrown around the same map as the one related to Efi Oladele, in Numbani.
