A day before the announcement of the 12th Annual Soompi Awards winners, Hye Kyo was in Tokyo, Japan, to distribute 10,000 copies of pamphlets with Professor Seo Kyung Deok. It was part of the commemoration of the independence movement against Japanese colonial rule in Korea.

The "Descendants of the Sun" funded the pamphlets and planned it with the professor. Printed in both Korean and Japanese, the pamphlet was titled "Meeting our history overseas."

"I hope that even something this small will help Korean tourists in Tokyo have a little more interest in Korean history that's all over the world," All Kpop quoted Hye Kyo as saying. In the pamphlet, she talked about various historical Korean monuments all over Tokyo.

After "Descendants of the Sun," Hye Kyo will play Hana in the romantic drama "Ships Passing in the Night," which is written by Sunwoo Park. Among her co-stars are "The Romance Artist" stars Esther Nam and Dae Na with a new actor named Dean.

Bev Sheehan and Robby Hurd were behind the "Ships Passing in the Night" casting. The film will also feature Woody Pak's music as well as Ricky Lee's cinematography and editing.
