Chinese President Xi Jinping is gradually becoming a bestselling author in Bulgaria, where 1,500 copies of his book about the “Chinese Dream” have arrived in circulation three weeks following its release.

Bulgaria, which is the second nation to recognize the People's Republic of China back in Oct. 1949, also became the first country to have a translated version of Xi's book entitled "The Chinese Dream of the Great Rejuvenation of the Chinese Nation."

Luben Kozarev, the president of the publishing house East-West that published the Bulgarian version of Xi's book, explained that the book is already in "a very good circulation" in their country.

This was proven true by sales records at a branch of Bulgaria's largest bookstore chain Helicon in Sofia, the capital city of Bulgaria where more than 50 copies were sold since it was released.

Helicon's co-owner and sales manager, Stoil Panayotov, noted that Xi's book would be popular especially among the country's intellectual population who wish to learn more about China's growth and history.

Aside from this, Bulgarian Ministry's Asia, Australia and Oceania Directorate First Secretary Marieta Arabadjieva also believed that Bulgaria's initiative to have their own version of the book proves the sincere friendship between the two countries.

"I think that the publication of this book in Bulgaria fulfills exactly this important goal--to explain to the Bulgarian readers that the Chinese Dream is striving for peace and balance in the world, and that China is extending his hand for cooperation to achieve global peaceful development," she explained.

She also described the book as "a vision that unites people for a great revival. It communicates this idea to the outside world as openly as possible in order to win supporters and partners," making it a significant symbol of the Asian giant.
