The skies was painted in colorful bursts of light as two GPS harmful solar storms hit earth.

Due to the immense amount of magnetic energy caused by the solar storms surround Earth, it is feared that it might send out radiations and cause electric disruptions and harm satellite tracking systems that are used for GPS communications.

Thomas Berger, director of the Space Weather Prediction Center, says that the magnetic plasma blasts left the sun last Sunday, and unexpectedly arrived stronger and  15 hours earlier on our planet.

"It's significantly stronger than expected", Berger said. This is said to be caused by the combination of two storms.

The storm is rated G4, a level that is most likely harmful for communications but is not powerful enough to be considered dangerous to human, Forbes reported.

Despite being  stronger than expected, the twin blasts did not cause any major damages.

According to Baltimoresun, Berger reveals that even though the solar storms are quite stronger than expected, having power break downs is not a possibility since electric companies are more equipped and prepared than they were decades ago.

Although Berger said that results may still be inexact and gauging the impact of the solar storm on our planet will still be difficult.

Meanwhile the phenomena caused beautiful light streaks that painted the skies in different hues and left some people on social media in awe.

Beautiful skies in different hues of purple and pink found their way into social media, as different neitizens share their experiences on twitter and instagram.
