Darth Vader, the evil Sith Lord of the Galactic Empire in Star Wars Universe, has victimized an unsuspecting bank in Pineville, North Carolina.
According to WSOC-TV Charlotte, a man dressed in a complete Darth Vader costume stormed into the Pineville State Employees Credit Union before noon on Monday and robbed thousands of dollars from the bank.
The Darth Vader robber was not wielding a typical Sith red light saber, but his loaded riffle was enough to force bank cashiers to give him all the money he wants. The criminal escaped the scene of the crime in a four-dour gray Chevy Suburban SUV.
"It was right around lunchtime (in a) very busy area, (a) very busy intersection in our town," Pineville police Lt. Corey Copley said in an interview on WSOC-TV. "(There's) a lot of foot traffic in and out of the bank at that time of day."
Witnesses stated that the bank robber didn't look as tall as the original Darth Vader, standing only at 5-foot-5. However, his action suggested that he's definitely as bold and evil as the corrupted Anakin Skywalker.
Fortunately, he did not hurt anyone in the bank, but authorities are now hot after him as they search for leads that would give them clue as to the whereabouts of the Darth Vader robber.
"This is definitely something unusual that you don't see every day in law enforcement," stressed Copley, who is encouraging every North Carolina citizen to contact the Pineville Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division at 704-889-2231 in case they know the identity of the suspect.
Fantasy/Sci-Fi writer Jake Vyper of Epic Stream poked some fun at the incident, suggesting the money could be used by Vader to build another Death Star.
