A new custom A8 microprocessor chip is rumored to power the new Apple TV. Its RAM is also expected to be upgraded from the current 8GB.

The news come after several tech sites reported that Apple is holding discussions with media firms to establish its own TV service, according to Forbes.

Apple's TV service is rumored to offer a 25-channel bundle in the next few months. The iPhone maker is reportedly making deals with giant names in the media industry such as 21st Century Fox, CBS and Walt Disney.

Apple is also reportedly launching a new App Store for the Apple TV itself. In addition, the upgraded operating system will feature support for their digital assistant Siri. It will also allow for HomeKit integration with other supported automated devices via WiFi and Bluetooth.

The new Apple TV SDK (Software Development Kit) is also expected to roll out to help developers make apps suited for the new device, according to Tech Crunch.

Rumors also say that the Apple Watch will also have some kind of connectivity feature with the new Apple TV. The wearable tech might act as a remote control through an app or as an external mic for Siri-activated voice commands.

Even Apple TV is generating more hype than the upcoming Apple Watch.

Apple has not yet confirmed anything.
