Kanye West cancelled his appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" on Friday for the popular segment of the show called "Mean Tweets".

The rapper was supposed to be a guest on the show's Mar. 20 episode. Jimmy Kimmel did not seem upset when he announced West's absence at the show.

During the show Kimmel said to his audience in a jestful manner, "Willie Nelson will be here in studio with us. Kanye West was supposed to be here too, but he canceled - or maybe he's planning to jump on stage unexpectedly to interrupt Willie. So if you do not like Kanye West, make sure to tune in Friday night to not see him."

West's representative told E! News that he had not confirmed to be on the show. However, his rep said that the rapper will be back in the show soon.

In 2013, he made an appearance on the show in defense against a sketch that Kimmel aired to mock West's interview with the BBC News. Kimmel's mocking of West had created a twitter rampage when two children re-enacted West's interview with the BBC.

A representative for ABC talk show said "We look forward to having Kanye West back on the show."
