The "Fast and Furious" star Vin Diesel is still mourning after 16 months since his friend Paul Walker passed away.

"While many believe that it was a great franchise, I know that it became so successful because of the bond that the team shared with one another," Diesel in an interview with Access Hollywood.

"It was not only on screen but out of the sets as well. In more than one way, I am deeply associated with Paul and my relationship with him is so prized," Diesel added.

Surprisingly, Diesel has a real twin brother and he's named Paul too. However, he added that he spent most of his years with Paul and his team, than anyone else.

Being from the East Coast and Walker from California, Diesel said, "If you ask my mother, she would say that Paul played the role of my twin brother who was significant in helping me grow spiritually and provide the emotional support I need."

Recalling an event while making "Fast and Furious 5," Diesel said, "Towards the end of the final shots of Furious 5, we were shooting non-stop and it just keeps going because it was raining so much. It was when I heard the news that the water broke for my wife who was back in New York. The crew was in Puerto Rico and I just couldn't leave them."

"I could remember him pushing me to leave to New York so that I could be there in time for my baby," Diesel said during a "Furious 7" screening in Los Angeles, People reported. "He spoke to everyone on my behalf, made sure things were set before shoving me into the plane to be with my girlfriend. I couldn't have asked for more than what Paul offered me."

When the lines came in "Furious 7" where Diesel was supposed to talk about Paul, he went on with a lot of words that was not in the script. Director James Wan filmed it all and at the end, he said, "I just couldn't stop it because it's hard to find where fiction and reality merged into one. The entire crew was in tears when the scene was filmed."
