Some scientists and locals were bedazzled when a great tide washed at the coast of Normandy.
This area lies along the coast of the English Channel, between England and France. But these people along with many scientists are still baffled as to what could cause such a massive tide in that region. It is also being referred to as "the tide of the century" as it occurs only once in 18 years or more.
Some scientists are saying that it is because of the Moon, which cause the maximum tidal effect in March and September. Moreover, this year, there was a perfect alignment between the sun and the moon, which made this gravitational pull on the water ten folds and ignited the tide. It cannot be a coincidence that this wave occurred during the total solar eclipse, which took place on Friday, according to IndianExpress.
Weathermen, on the other hand, say that weather plays a huge role on the huge tidal wave. However the exact scientific explanation for the super-tide is still a big mystery and it is being waited anxiously by the locals and the scientists alike.
Since this super tide was felt almost all around the world, there needs to be something more to it than meets the eye, as reported by AmericanLiveWire.
Whatever might be the actual explanation for this, tourists and locals, both enjoyed a spectacular view of this event and even now they are enjoying the high tide rides on their surf boards.
