The Canadian Food Inspection Agency, CFIA, sent out a warning to the consuming public regarding Aurora Products specifically the nut mixes due to a possible salmonella contamination. The recall was posted on March 20 on the FDA's official website.

Aurora Products Inc., makers of Walnut and Trail Mixed nuts, has voluntarily recalled their products due to the salmonella contamination scare. The mentioned products have been contaminated and to avoid food poisoning when consumed, a drastic recall was made, Wall Street OTC reported.

Salmonella when digested can lead to severe infection, food poisoning, or sometimes can be fatal to the ones who have consumed the infected food.

Aurora Products has recalled their products being sold at Stop & Shop and at Giant food stores and other retail outlets within the United States, Canada, and the Bermuda areas.

Salmonella symptoms may include fever, diarrhea, abdominal cramps, vomiting, chills, nausea, and headaches which may result around 8 up to 72 hours or until up to a week upon consumption of the infected food.

The walnut makers called to the consuming public not eat the mentioned brands and products in case they have already purchased them. The products affected and being sold at Giant stores are Cranberry Health Mix, Giant Walnuts, Roasted Salt Mixed Nuts, Aurora No Salt Mixed Nuts and Aurora Forest Bounty Trail Mix.

At the Stop & Shop stores, the mentioned products are being sold under the same names but they carry the Stop & Shop logo.

Aurora company has sent out instructions to remove these mentioned products from store shelves and to stop the distribution the soonest possible time.

No reports of illnesses have been received that may have to do with this incident.
