Google-owned video streaming service Youtube is all set to re-launch their live game streaming services to pose a strong competition to Twitch in the eSports arena.
Twitch has been enjoying complete control over PC and console game streaming services for many years now. Youtube has much better servers to handle load and provide a solid live streaming experience to gamers but the company stayed away from the market for a long time.
Last year, Google made an offer to buy Twitch and incorporate it with Youtube but the deal failed. Amazon acquired it for almost $1 billion and according to Gamespot reports, it is evident that the company don't want to lose to competition.
In the past, Youtube had live streaming capabilities for the Indian Premier League cricket matches in 2010 and it also streamed League of Legends championship matches. However, the service didn't had a stronghold in the gaming market as like Twitch which is making a huge revenue by focusing on eSports.
At the moment, Youtube has formed a dedicated team of 50 engineers who will be focusing on the streaming features of the website. They will be responsible for re-launching the option and make live streaming seamless so that gamers could make use of it.
In the Daily Dot interview, the company representative said, "When the service comes into mainstream, it will allow streamers to enjoy great benefits while we expect to break the records set by bringing the most number of esports viewers onboard. Google will start partnering with other companies and promote the events on a large scale."
With the newly updated HTML 5 players and its already powerful servers, Youtube is going to give a tough fight to Twitch in game streaming and eSports that they have never witnessed in the past four years.
