Microsoft will be releasing a much awaited "Halo" videogame for the PC, but there is a catch-it is only available for gamers in Russia.
The Redmond company said that it will launch the closed beta version of "Halo Online," a highly modified version of its "Halo 3" engine that is expected to run smoothly even on lower-end PCs.
The new online game does not have a single player campaign mode, but the whole video game is set on Anvil, a secret space installation where soldiers train with or against each other.
Microsoft has not announced yet on when the game is launching for the United States and the rest of the world.
"Right now our focus is on learning as much as we can from the closed beta period in Russia. Theoretically, any expansion outside of Russia would have to go through region-specific changes to address player expectations," the Windows maker wrote in a blog post.
Additionally, the tech giant said that it will not be making another version of "Halo Online" for its own Xbox One video game console.
The videogame was co-developed by Microsoft and Saber Interactive, who also worked on "Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary" and "Halo: The Master Chief Collection."
Microsoft's new online game will be published on Russia's 4game platform from Innova Systems.
The tech company said that the new video game is designed to help new fans to get acquainted with the "Halo" universe. The later part of the video game series were not released for the PC, according to PC Mag.
Russia will get to play the closed beta of the game "later this spring." Microsoft has not set a proper launch date yet.
