A "kill gays" ballot initiative in California which would require anyone who is involved in a same-sex sexual affairs be killed "by bullets to the head" or any other method would be unconstitutional should it pass, however, one state leader is opposing it and trying to get it stopped in this instant.

State Attorney General Kamala Harris requested a Sacramento court on March 25, Wednesday, to allow her office to turn down the proposed ballot initiative, which is being called the Sodomite Suppression Act.

If her request to stop the initiative is denied, her office will be compelled to give attorney Matthew McLaughlin-the sponsor-the authorization to seek 366,000 votes that would be necessary to put it on the ballot in November 2016.

The proposed initiative includes death punishment to whoever engages in sexual relationships with the same gender; also, it would also make distribution of gay "propaganda" illegal-which will be punishable by $1 million fines or banishment from the state, according to News Max.

According to Times of San Diego, assembly speaker Toni Atkins-a member of LGBT community-said that Harris is doing the right thing by asking the court to allow California to reject an obviously unconstitutional and rather dangerous initiative proposal that actually promotes murder. "The proposal represents either the depth of bigotry and hatred or the height of sick publicity stunts-either way it should not be dignified by becoming an official part of the process Californians have to amend the state Constitution," Atkins added.

Horrified reactions to the idea have taken over the internet since the proposed ballot initiative was put forth. Fury and outrage from many concerned constituents was also sparked.
