Animal robotics is the new thing that is continuously surprising the scientists and new bionic animals behaved like ants, butterflies and chameleon.

According to NBC News, animal-inspired robots were studied by researchers at Festo. These "animals" are made up of many complicated chips and include a perfect design to be able to replicate the actual sensors of an animal.

These robotic bodies comprised of motors for wings, batteries, and many more little electrical devices are required to make an insect "fly" and do other stuff. Also, a GPS is fitted in each one them so that they can be easily guided around an area with the help of remote controls, as per Wired. The eMotion butterflies can maneuver on a projected path correctly.

The bionic ant imitates the herd activities of ants and form collaborative groups to perform tasks. These little robots are made intelligent enough to split themselves in groups and assign activities among themselves. Moreover, they can move really fast and avoid bumping into each other in a very precise manner.

Lastly, the chameleon's copy, the FlexShapeGripper, has a long, sticky tongue that shoots out and catches objects very neatly. This kind of behavior can be used to hold different kinds of objects, esp. the flat-shaped ones.

Festo is known to create many fascinating things using robotics but specializes in biomimetic" devices, as is precise by this report. People can have a look at these scientific marvels at heavy industry trade show Hannover Messe which will be held in April.
