"The Returned" Episode 4, this week's new episode on A&E, brings Rowan and Simon closer, while Tommy's heart breaks. Meanwhile, Julie becomes suspicious of Victor because of a "horrific death."

"The Returned" show bosses Carlton Cuse and Raelle Tucker have both spoken about a new path for their adaptation of the French series "Les Revenants." This week in Episode 4, however, the major events are expected to mirror the original.

Viewers who have not seen "Les Revenants" will get a bit more understanding of Victor, the child whom Julie has unofficially taken into her custody in the pilot episode. In "The Returned" Episode 3, Victor pays their nosy neighbor a visit. Julie got upset with this meddlesome neighbor and told her to "drop dead."

Meanwhile, Tommy saw Rowan, his fiancée, kiss Simon in a reunion that he's feared since he saw Tommy in "The Returned" Episode 2.  Rowan has just realized that Simon's presence is not a product of her imagination.

In the Winship household, Lena's nasty back wound gets worse in "The Returned" Episode 4. She gets taken to the hospital in this week's new episode. Lena's twin sister Camille is suspected to be the cause of the wound.

Elsewhere in the neighborhood, psychologist Peter Lattimore becomes more involved in Simon's return. The mystery surrounding his familiarity to "returnees" has not yet been explored.

What's been recently revealed is that Julie used to be involved with Nikki Banks, Tommy's chief deputy. Their relationship suffered a strain when Julie was attacked by the serial killer in the neighborhood.

In a media interview, Tucker earlier said their adaptation will be "completely" different by the eighth episode of "The Returned." More notable new tracks will be seen in the next couple of episodes.

Cuse, for his part, is hopeful "The Returned" would get a second season. The original series has yet to release its own Season 2.

"I think it's too early on "The Returned" to say how long the show should last. But I think we have a really good game plan for how to expand the show in Season 2," Cuse told IGN.

"The Returned" airs Mondays on A&E, back-to-back with another dark series also ran by Cuse, "Bates Motel."
