A rabbi living in southern Israel predicts that the third Blood Moon on April 4, Saturday, requires all Jews to pray and repent because Israel is potentially in danger and is facing great judgment.
Among the events that Rabbi Amram Vaknin predicted were the Gaza flotilla and the Carmel forest fire in 2010, and Operations Pillar of Defense in 2012 and Protective Edge in 2014.
According to Gil Nachman, one of Rabbi Vaknin's students, the April 4 Blood Moon prediction was based on the numeric value of dam, the Hebrew word for blood, which is 44. The sage believes the number indicates Barack Obama, the 44th president of the United States.
Nachman told Breaking Israel News that according to Vaknin's prediction, the 44th U.S. president would bring bloodshed to the Jewish people. Even before Obama's election to office, the rabbi made the same prediction.
For Vaknin, only 44 plus 1 can contradict the danger represented by the April 4 Blood Moon, and 45 is Man or Adam, which refers to the Messiah.
The April 4 Blood Moon is the third of four lunar eclipses over the course of two years called a tetrad. Its most remarkable will be the totality phase, when the shadow of the Earth covers the moon totally and turns it red, according to National Geographic.
The moon will only pass over the darkest and deepest part of umbra or the Earth's shadow and totality could last from nine to 12 minutes.
The first and second of the tetrad took place in April and September 2014, and the last will be witnessed on Sept. 28.
