The largest messaging platform, Whatsapp has always maintained a reputation of surprising its users by rolling out some of the most unprecedented updates. The recent update endowed the users with the ability to make calls using the app. The cherry on the cake was that no activation fee was charged for this feature. Moreover, the users only needed to update their app to its latest version.

However, as reported by India Today, this update has been rolled out only for the Android enabled phones as of now and the owners of both Windows Phone and iOS are waiting eagerly for Whatsapp to develop a version compatible for use on their Operating System. Adding to the anticipation is the fact that Whatsapp has always maintained uniformity across platforms in terms of providing features. Furthermore, over the years it has itself accessible to users of Windows Phone, Symbian, Blackberry and S40.

Furthermore, Brian Acton, so founder of Whatsapp remarked that the feature would be rolling out to iOS in a few weeks time. However, he added that the sequence in which Windows and iOS would receive the update still remains unclear. Furthermore, answering a user's query, Whatsapp administration has spelled out the update being under works for Windows.

Moreover, as remarked by Huewire Whatsapp has been a pioneer in its field by providing ad free and uncluttered services to its users. The app provides free usage in the first year followed by a fee of 99 cents from second year onwards.

In the absence of any concrete date for release of the update for crossover platforms, it is hard for the users to control their anticipation. However, keeping in mind the history of Whatsapp , it is expected that this wait won't be a long one.
