A New Jersey teacher that was charged last year of allegedly having sex and sexually assaulting six students at the Columbia High School in Maplewood has pleaded not guilty regarding the accusations against her.

The teacher identified as 35-year-old Nicole DuFault allegedly had sex with the students and she pleaded not guilty on Monday on 40 counts of aggravated sexual assault and child endangerment as she claims it is not her fault.

DuFault allegedly hooked up with the students on repeated occasions and they were only 14 to 15 years of age at the time of the incident. Allegedly, DuFault performed both oral and vaginal sex in her car and sometimes on school property with the children.

DuFault is currently suspended from her job and the mother of two allegedly had sexual intercourse with the half a dozen students during the 2013 to 2014 school year. A video was shown to prove that DeFault was performing oral sex acts on one of the students while another student was present in her car as reported by NJ.com.

DuFault was offered by Essex County Assistant Prosecutor Gina Iosim that if she will admit that there is truth in the charges filed against her, she will be jailed for 15 years but will be granted with parole eligibility once she completes 85 percent of the total years she has to serve time in prison. Timothy Smith, the lawyer of DuFault, said that she might not settle with the offer so she will have to be registered as a sex offender and will be under parole supervision until she dies.

DuFault was arrested back in September but is free due to being able to pay the bond posted by police officials. Columbia High School, the school that DuFault worked in during the time of the assaults and the intercourse, are helping the students impacted by the event as reported by Huffington Post
