"Star Wars" is one of the most remarkable franchises in the world of entertainment. While fans are waiting for the upcoming film "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens," the classic series of the famous franchise will be in digital mode.

Walt Disney Studios, Lucasfilm Ltd., and 20th Century Fox made an announcement on the forthcoming release of the "Star Wars" Digital Movie Collection, as per Star Wars. The set covers all six films in the franchise, starting from "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace" to "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi." All film installments are on Digital HD and can be accessed by fans starting April 10, Friday.

Walt Disney Studios President Alan Bergman spoke his thoughts on taking all six film installments to Digital HD version. Berman said that while "Star Wars" has reached an international platform with a broad fan base since the premiere of the first film almost four decades ago, the fans of the franchise are worthy of seeing the saga as well as its enthralling behind-the-scenes. He and the company are also excited that all six movies are going digital.

Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy also expressed her thoughts in Star Wars. Kennedy said that she and the company are excited for fans being able to experience the "Star Wars" saga on their gadgets. The set of films will be accompanied by bonus features such as "Star Wars: Discoveries from Inside" and "Conversations".

"Conversations" features the ideas of the key contributors in the whole franchise, which includes "The Star Wars That Almost Was" on "Revenge of the Sith," "The Lost Interviews" on "The Empire Strikes Back," and a recall with VFX production designer Doug Chiang on "The Phantom Menace."  The films will be accessible in singles or as a set, at all leading digital retailers, as per Collider. Such retailers include Verizon Fiosm PlayStation Store, Xbox Video, Amazon, VUDU, Google Play, and iTunes.

The upcoming seventh installment "Star Wars VIII: The Force Awakens" will star Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison ford, Peter Meyhew, Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker, John Bouyega, Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, and Max von Sydow.

J.J. Abrams is set to helm the film, together with Kennedy producer. Lawrence Kasdan and George Lucas are set to pen the screenplay.

"Star Wars Episode VIII: The Force Awakens" is slated to premiere in theaters in United States on Dec. 18.
