Dribbles, 30-foot 3-pointers and a 45-points drop for Warriors, basketball genius and popularly 'the human torch' Steph Curry broke the NBA's single-season 3-point record in an exemplary Thursday night.

He stunned everyone with a performance that could be the key to his MVP title.

"He found a lot of space and was just unbelievable," Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said.

Curry built eight three-pointers to break the NBA single-season record. Importantly, Curry scored 19 of his 45 points in the last quarter and helped in 10 assists in the game.

It was a miraculous performance in the final 123 seconds that turned the 104-103 nail-biter against Portland into a 116-105 Warriors victory, according to SF Gate.

Curry on carried on his magic while the crowd cheered "M-V-P" multiple times in a completely sold out game at Oracle Arena. Fortunately, it was also a nationally televised show as well.

Accomplishing the feat of 276 threes, breaking his own record of 272, made in 2012-13, in the very first half, Curry was stunning down the stretch.

With the Warriors on a 104-103 lead, three free throws of the game Curry made gave the warriors the reason to complain why they've not filed his name for the MVP publicly.

Now, the MVP honor is a battle between 'the Human Torch' and Houston's James Harden. It is up to the voters, now.

But truly speaking, without any bias, Voters just need the glimpses of nights like Thursday to say "That's why he's the MVP. Because he did that."

But, none of the players deserve not to get the MVP honor. It's all about leaving the most lasting impression with the voters to choose the best one, reports CBS Sports.

Curry gave The Warriors their 15th straight home victory and the 20th straight win against Western Conference opposition at home.

Having three-dozen of home wins in this season, the Warriors have tied the franchise record of 1975-76.

Are we drifting away from the MVP topic?
